Last week Envair Technology were delighted to welcome 13 students from Hazel Wood High School in Bury to our Heywood facility, for a workplace safari.
They had the opportunity to see the work of our engineering and production teams, including laser cutting, welding and powder coating. We manufacture all of our containment products here onsite, so they could see the stages each item goes through from design through engineering, fabrication and powder coating. To make it easier for them to relate to, they each designed a phone stand and followed its production, before taking home the finished article as a souvenir.
In our Factory Acceptance Testing Suite, we explained how some of our clean air equipment works, including the Rapid Gassing Isolators which protect vulnerable patients, such as those undergoing cancer treatment. The students even had a go at working in an isolator themselves, with our demonstration model. They also saw the fume cupboards we are building ready to install in schools and colleges over summer and learned about our many sustainability initiatives too.
Many thanks to all our staff, and those from Hazel Wood High School who worked together to create such a great experience for our visitors.
It was a pleasure to meet this group of students, who showed lots of interest and asked some great questions. Maybe we’ll be seeing them again in a few years as future apprentices!
This workplace safari is part of our commitment to our local community. Find out more in our ESG policy here.
