Envair Technology were delighted to win ‘Sustainable Environmental Business of the Year’ at the Rochdale Business Awards 2025 on 21st November, sponsored by the GM Business Growth Hub.

Rochdale’s business community is packed with long-established organisations and exciting innovators, so it’s a real honour to be recognised among our peers. This award reflects the work our team has put into strengthening our ESG strategy over the past 18 months – from carbon reduction and waste improvements to more sustainable operations across our Heywood site.

 

Our impact on the environment matters to us and we support the Sustainable Development Goals. We’re committed to transitioning to Net Zero by 2040 and working towards ISO 14001 accreditation.

In 2024, Envair Technology achieved reductions in scopes 1 & 2 of our carbon footprint, with a 10% reduction in our gas and electric consumption compared to our base year in 2023. This year we’ve continued to reduce our consumption further, with investment in new green technology including a voltage optimiser and cardboard shredder.

We have worked with Green Economy to improve our carbon foot printing methodology. This initially appears as a significant increase for scope 3 emissions, but gives us a fuller picture and the opportunity to identify further improvements. We are working with our supply chain to understand their carbon emissions to help us to support our own customers.

Whilst we are focused on reducing our footprint, we have also invested in carbon credits to contribute to offsetting our 2025 footprint. We have worked with Nature Broking and their Beech Estate project, a leading light with farming with nature and improving habitats and biodiversity across the site.

We still have work to do but we’re proud of our progress to date. Thank you to the team – Andrew Ellison, Helen Finney and Todd Payne – who represented Envair Technology on the night, with special recognition to Helen, whose leadership has been instrumental in driving our ESG progress.
