VAV controls reduce carbon emissions and save energy costs too, compared to constant air volume (CAV) controls. When configured to use a fast-acting damper and sash position sensor, the change in airflow readout is almost instantaneous. With this in mind, VAV systems often pay for themselves in less than 3 years due to the huge energy savings.
