For smaller schools and colleges where a fume cupboard may not be in constant use or space is at a premium, mobile recirculating fume cupboards from TCS provide a neat solution. The units feature glass panels to all four sides allowing students 360 degree visibility of experiments, and can be moved between labs or classrooms, comfortably fitting between standard door openings.
When in use, the fume cupboard can be secured using a docking station, and then positioned back against a wall when lessons have finished.
The docking station is a robust lockable enclosure housing water, gas, drainage and power connections which enable quick-release connections when the cupboard is moved.
The mobile recirculating fume cupboard recirculates air back into the laboratory via an integral fan unit and carbon filter. The carbon filter is suitable all standard chemicals used in GCSE and A Level curriculum work. We can offer an annual maintenance service which includes carbon filter saturation testing and replacement supply and installation of filters as required by the COSHH regulations.
All TCS educational fume cupboards are compliant with CLEAPSS Guide G9 – Fume Cupboards in Schools (Revision of DfEE Building Bulletin 88), BS 7989, BREEAM compliant (ENE11), CLEAPSS tested and Good Practice Guide 320 – Energy Efficient Design and Operation of Fume Cupboards.
